Computers for kids

Although many kids want their own computer these days, but do they actually need it? Many houses have family computers but kids would like their own. Many kids use computers for online gaming and other stuff. Would this be considered ok?

Kids spent too much time on online gaming, instant messaging and a lot of other stuff. If they have this stuff, wouldn't they play endlessly? Playing online games is ok for once in a while. Sooner or later, they will grow out of playing games and start doing other stuff on there. As they get older, they will spend more time on school work. This is about the time when they get into high school. They will have to keep more files and homework on there.

Since about now, most high schools and university have computers. Students can use a memory stick and transport data in that. Most parents would find this an excuse for not buying their kids a computer. This is however a very wrong thing to do. In the near future, all homework assigned by teachers will be handed in on possibly computer. More and more students start going into high school and soon university. This means that teachers have more assignments to mark. A lot of paper would be wasted if the assignments are handed in on paper. Therefore, to solve this solution is that the students probably email their assignments to their professors. You can't possibly always do your homework in school.

Parents should start buying their kids a computer in grade seven to grade eight. They seem a little early for any real assignments to do on the computer. This is why you must get them prepared. By grade seven or eight, they will still want to play computer games. When they have their own computer, they will play for a week or so daily. After that, you'll be amazed why they won't play. Since they have too much time to play, these games become a little boring.

Kids are easily to get bored at something. They can never last a long time anyways. When they find that they are tired of playing online games, they will slowly move to something educational. Once in a while they will come up with projects they want to do. They will test their research skills none stop. When ever they want to find out something, they will rely on their own sources to guide them through.

Therefore, kids owning their computers starting at grade seven to grade eight are a good thing. They can do whatever they please. When something puzzles them, they can use their own research skills to uncover the truth about something. They will also be able to keep in touch with other friends and can find out homework through friends easily.

Internet security is a thing that you also must consider about. If a computer is bought for your kid too young, they may not know certain things. When you are twelve, thirteen and fourteen years old, they will know things like not to give out your personal information to someone you do not even know of.

Buying a computer for you kid actually has a good cause. This can help them with their homework and it even teaches them to be independent.

Fun kid activities on a tight budget

If you have kids, and you're pinching pennies, then you've felt it. That "how-will-I-ever-entertain-the m?!" feeling. But with a little creativity, there are countless opportunities to keep your kids from getting bored AND stay within your budget!

A kind mentor once reminded me that as adults, WE are the ones with the expectations....not our kids. Kids by nature are content with simple things. We teach them to need more because WE want more. Here are a few of the things we have done as a family while nursing a tight budget.

BACKYARD HOT DOG ROASTS:
Do I really need to explain?! So, go! Grab the 'dogs and the marshmallows! Your kids will beg to do it again! Cost: FREE! (except of course for groceries, which you most likely already have!)

PICNICS AT THE PARK:
There is no better way to bond as a family than eating at a picnic table in the fresh air. Throw a few basics in the cooler and enjoy! Play equipment is right on the spot when you get done eating. Cost: Free, or a minimal park fee, plus groceries.

DRIVES IN THE COUNTRY:
If your kids love to ride, hop in the car and take them for a leisurely drive. Our kids absolutely love this, and beg to go all the time! A great plus is family conversation time, with no distractions. Cost: the gas it takes to go.

UTILIZE LOCAL FACILITIES:
If your kids love to read, plan a weekly outing to the library. If they enjoy swimming, find the public pool, or see if you can make a deal with the local campground. Cost: Free, or a minimal charge.

ATTEND LOCAL ACTIVITIES:
Don't forget that the parade is next week! Or how about the town fair, extravaganza, or festival? Make out a strict budget ahead of time for rides and food, and make sure the kids are aware that it is non-negotiable. Get set for tons of fun! Cost: Free on up, depending on your budget.

HOST PLAY DATES:
What do kids love more than playing with their friends? Invite several kids over for a fun afternoon of games and playtime, and top it off with homemade pizza and a movie. You won't hear any complaints about being bored! Cost: Groceries and a movie rental.

Entertaining our kids creatively can seem overwhelming on a strict budget, especially when the Joneses are touting their Disneyland souvenirs. But keep in mind that it is family time that creates memories, not the extravagance of the experience. So, tight budget or not: we're having fun!

Gift Your Kid A Unique Child Gift To Make Them Feel Special!

All kids are quite precious creations of God - there is no denying that. But do we make them special and precious enough? Most of the times, we are too embroiled in our own activities and tend to ignore our kids. However, we can easily make up for such moments of our selfishness. And that is by gifting them a gift.

Now here's the catch though. Children cannot be given just about any gift. If you go to the store and pick up something on your way back from work, it is quite likely that your kid would not appreciate that. Kids are quite clever nowadays - and if you are able to give them a unique child gift, they will be sure to reciprocate in good measure.

For whatever it is worth, selecting the right child gift idea is not quite an easy task to do. But one thing is certain - the Internet is much better for searching such unique gifts than toy stores. On the Internet, you are sure to find more ingenious and creative ideas. People with stores for kids' toys online devote a lot of time in making great concepts that kids would appreciate. This is much better than physical toy stores which will invariably have factory mass produced toys. Now, which child is going to appreciate having a gift like that?

If you look at some of the unique children's gift ideas that are floating around the Internet lately, you will quite well understand what I mean. Take the example of the personalized child book. It surely makes for an ideal gift. You have these books with superheroes like Batman, Superman, Spider-man, Ironman, anyone you want, or comic and fairytale characters like Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Thumbelina, etc. etc. and even Santa Claus! But the special thing is that you can include your kid as a character in these books. Your kid's name will be there in the book, your kid will play a role in the story, and in fact, your kid's friends will be there too... by name! This is a relatively novel concept, but it is certainly being well liked by kids and their parents alike.

Special gift baskets for children are also en vogue. You will not find these at the toy stores, but if you hunt online, you will find some real eye-popping ideas. There are comic book gift baskets for children, or cookie and chocolate baskets. A very hot-selling gift basket is one with tiny action hero figurines and a personalized child book in it. This is a sure hit will all kids. If you know which action hero the kid likes, you can customize and personalize the basket according to that action hero. Or you can have a toy gift basket for the kid too. Gift baskets for children are good ideas because they contain a whole lot of goodies that can keep the kids engaged for a long time.

And if you are really in the verve to perk up your kid's mood and give them an exceptional gift, then think of a Disney World trip for them. Or better still, book a vacation for your whole family there. Disney World is not as expensive as you think, but the most important point is that your entire family - especially the kid - will have some real unforgettable moments there.

So, the next time you are thinking of cheering up your kid with a gift, do not settle with just any run-of-the-mill gift. Conjure up a unique idea and surprise your kid. The smiles, giggles and dimples you will see on them will be the best 'thank you' you will ever have heard.

Tips for kid ATV safety

There are many kids today that are enjoying the fun of a kid ATV. They are cruising around on one of these fun and exciting vehicles and having a great time. There are a few things that kids and their parents should keep in mind every time they go out and ride. Safety is first and it is very important to make sure that all the rules are followed.

One safety tip for kid ATV riding is to make sure that the child is wearing a helmet. This is going to be a necessity for any child or adult on an ATV. It is the law and it will help to save a life. Other important safety equipment should be used as well. Goggles and boots are a must when riding any recreational vehicle.

There should never be any tricks or stunts performed on the kid ATV. They are not for goofing off. It is not a good idea to race or perform jumps with any ATV. These can be dangerous and someone can get seriously injured if they are not done correctly. It is not a good idea to do anything dangerous on any kind of ATV.

Another tip to remember is that these are not toys. They are not to be used carelessly. It is important to teach the child to be safe and respectful while they are riding their kid at. Tell them the rules and if they do not follow them, they will loose their privileges to ride. Never let any child ride without parental supervision. It is recommended that all parents make sure that they keep a close eye on any child using a kid ATV. Never let them go off alone and make sure that they tell you where they are at all times. There should be someone with the child at all times to make sure that everyone is safe.

Never ride any atvs on paved roads. It is illegal to ride on public roads and there are consequences to anyone that does. There are special trials for kid atvs and they can be used in fields and in wooded areas with the proper supervision. Obeying all of the laws and signs are very important to anyone on an ATV.

When safety comes first, riding a kid ATV can be a lot of fun and exciting for many children. It is a good idea to teach children right from the start to use caution and follow all instructions with the ATV. Any child can have years and years of fun when they use the right procedures with their kid ATV

How to Raise Money Smart Kids

Teaching kids how to handle money is important. This article shows you what you can do to help them learn the importance of finance.

Step 1
If you are looking for resources to help teach your kids about finance, one of the first places you can visit is the Jump$tart Coalition website (see Resources below). This organization is dedicated to helping teens improve their financial literacy through various means of education.

Step 2
A cash allowance is another important tool for kids, especially teenagers, to be able to manage. An allowance should ideally be an amount that allows the kid to buy something small now, or something big later. An allowance that is too large will not teach the importance of saving.

Step 3
Teaching a teen to use and balance a checking account is also important. If the account becomes overdrawn, don't constantly bail your teen out of trouble; your teen needs to learn to pay for his or her own mistakes. Although balancing a checkbook may not be as necessary now as it used to be (due largely to 24/7 online access to account balances), it is still probably a good skill for your teen to at least understand.

Step 4
Another critical concept that teens must be taught is the magic of compound interest. There are numerous calculators online that can help teens see this, as well as calculators that will show a teen how long it will take for them to pay off a debt. Price comparison when shopping is also valuable, even (and sometimes especially) when buying expensive items. Teaching them to use coupons and look for sales will get them into the lifelong habit of thrifty shopping.

How to Raise Great Kid's

We all want happy, healthy, productive children. Here are some great parenting tip's to make that happen.

Step 1
Start young. Alot of parent's love to spoil their little one's. We think of how small and sweet and innocent they are. Of course all that is true, but don't under estimate how smart they are. Children learn early how to manipulate! They learn quick to throw a temper tantrum if it get's them their way. You must remind yourself that always giving a child their way only hurt's the child, it doesn't help them. In life they are not going to get that job or that promotion or anything else they want by throw a temper tantrum. They need to learn young that a good attitude and hard work is the key to getting what you want in life. Being consistent with your child is the key to raising a well behaved child!! IF IT'S "NO" NOW, IT'S "NO" IN 5 MINUTE'S, AND IT'S "NO" TOMORROW. BE CONSISTANT!

Step 2
Don't try to give your child everything. I hear alot of parent's say "I'm trying to give my child what I never had." Well, that's fine if you never had clothes, shoes, a roof over your head or an education. Those are really the only thing's that matter. We have become a society that thinks we HAVE to have material thing's to be happy. That's BULL! We work all year long to buy thousands of dollar's worth of toys, electronic's, clothe's and shoe's for our kid's who already have toy's, electronic's, clothe's and shoe's. We give our children so much they don't appreciate anything! SPEND TIME WITH YOUR CHILD. I've never seen a child who didn't long for their parent's time and affection. Teach them the true meaning of happiness. They'll grow to be better people because of it! DON'T SPOIL YOUR CHILD!

Step 3
When our sweet babies become mean teenager's alot of parent's disconnect. That is the biggest mistake you can ever make. If your child has a attitude and mouth's off "Leave me alone" or "Get out of my life."Remember, even though they say those thing's, THEY NEED YOU! They depend on you to still be that guiding lite, a friend when they need it. Don't give up on them, but DON'T BACK DOWN! Your rule's are still your rule's and when they brake them, then they get punished. So, after they tell you "Get out of my life, I don't need you." and then they want to borrow the car. Remind them that they don't need you...or your car.Tough love isn't fun or easy, but it's still love. Don't allow yourself to feel guilty about standing your ground! Your children must learn to be respectful of you, your home and their other family member's. If they can't do that, and it has become a situation beyond your control then seek help. I'm telling you, alot of these bad situation can be avoided just by being an involved parent. Knowing who your child is hanging out with and were their going at night is the key. Know what's happening at school and with their friends. BE A PARENT! GET INVOLVED AND DONT BE AFRAID TO PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN!
